Minor & Ultratrace Minerals

Also known as trace elements, minor minerals represent 0.01% of total body mass and are required in amounts less than 100 milligrams. All minor minerals are elements but not all are metals. Examples of minor minerals include iron, zinc, iodine, copper, selenium, fluoride, chromium, and manganese. Ultratrace minerals are required in amounts less than 1 microgram and includes cobalt, boron, molybdenum, vanadium, nickel, arsenic, and silicon.
